A guided digital detox
What if you could look at your phone and feel nothing?
No guilt. No anxiety. Just you, deciding what deserves your attention. How We Screen is a guided program helping Gen Z and millennials build intentional relationships with technology.
The Problem
The Scroll Trap
It starts innocently. A quick check. A notification. And then thirty minutes vanish like they were never yours. You unlock your phone 150 times a day. You watch reels you don’t even like. You know it’s not making you feel good, and you do it anyway.
This isn’t a willpower failure. It’s a design feature. Every app on your phone was built by a team of engineers whose success is measured by how long they keep you staring at glass.
You’re not the problem. But you might be ready for a different relationship with your screen.
Voices from the Internet
The things we say when we think nobody’s building a website about it
A@internet_strangerI deleted Instagram for the third time this month. Reinstalled it an hour later.
M@scroll_survivorDoes anyone else pick up their phone, forget why, then just open TikTok anyway?
J@recovering_scrollerI spent my entire vacation taking photos of things I never actually looked at.
K@screen_time_criminalMy screen time report feels like a criminal record I can’t expunge.
T@couch_philosopherI watch reels of people living outside while I sit on my couch.
R@lunch_stalkerI hate that I know what every person I went to high school with had for lunch.
S@therapy_updateMy therapist asked me what I do for fun and I said “scroll.” We both went quiet.
D@timer_denierI set a 15-minute timer for TikTok. That was two hours ago.
L@algorithm_knowsThe algorithm knows me better than my best friend and that’s genuinely terrifying.
P@boredom_seekerI miss being bored. Just regular, stare-at-the-ceiling bored.

FAQ
Questions you probably have
No. We don’t believe in willpower-based approaches or shame-driven detoxes. The 3-Day Reset teaches you to notice your patterns and make conscious choices. Your phone stays in your pocket.
Absolutely not. We’re not anti-social-media. We’re pro-intentional-use. You might decide to take breaks, set boundaries, or change how you engage — but that’s your call, not ours.
Our programs are informed by behavioral psychology, digital wellness research, and the lived experiences of our community. We’re not doctors, though, so this isn’t medical advice.
You’ll have a personal Screen Agreement and a set of new habits to experiment with. From there, you can join our community, try a deeper program, or just take what you learned and go live your life.
We designed our programs with creators in mind. It’s not about posting less — it’s about separating creation from consumption. Many creators find they produce better work with more intentional screen habits.
We actively designed against that. Our community has no pressure to participate daily. It’s async-first, with weekly prompts and monthly live sessions. No 500-message-thread anxiety.
Those tools show you data. We help you understand what to do with it. A timer that you swipe away doesn’t change your relationship with your phone. A guided program with community support does.
